Newark/Wolcott, New York Kuehl, Betty A. Betty A Kuehl, 83, passed away on November 10, 2016 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Mrs. Kuehl was born in Walworth, New York on May 31, 1933, daughter of Karl and Elizabeth Wickman. She was one of eight children. Betty was the treasured wife to the love of her life the late Lloyd F. Kuehl. She was the cherished mother of her seven children, Steve (Sandy) Wickman, Brian (Jean) Kuehl, Rosemary Kuehl, Tracy (Vinkee) Sabanski, Margaret (Stephen) DeJohn, Heather (Tim) Halligan and Susan Nash (late beloved Lloyd Hank Kuehl). She is also survived by loving sister Grace (Kenny) Martin, 20 plus grandchildren, 30 plus great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Betty was a very dedicated wife and mother who took great pride in taking care of her family. With marrying and then raising a house full of musicians she was named “Wayne County’s Mother of Country Music.” Betty was very active along with her husband with the American Legion and the VA Hospital. Betty was also a foster grandparent for the Roosevelt Children’s Center. Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 13th, 2016 from 3-6pm at Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main St. in Sodus. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14th, 2016 at 10AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sodus Rural Cemetery immediately following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Legions or a Veteran’s organization of your choice.
