Savannah, New York Munson, Alfred R. Alfred Roy Munson, also known as Niffy, a loving father and grandfather, was called home on March 15th, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of James and Florence (Carr) Munson, born on December 30th, 1941. He grew up and resided in Rose for most of his life except for his time in the Naval Service from 1959-1963. The last few years he lived with his daughter Brenda (David) in Butler. Niffy worked for many years for his brothers at Salerno Bros. then finished his time working at Thomas Electronics in Clyde and with his daughter at Pick Me Ups in Butler. Once retired he spent as much time as he could with family and at his camp in Little America in Orwell, New York. He was predeceased by his mother, father, brother James (wife Shirley) Munson, step granddaughter Michelle Guinup, several brother and sister in laws. He is survived by his daughter Brenda (David) Guinup, granddaughters Desiree (Andy) Hall, Deedra (Jim) Bucci, brothers Vincent (late wife Mahota) Salerno, Joseph (Wilma) Salerno, sisters Joanne (late husband George) Behm, Patricia (late husband Leon) Fox, Nancy (late husband Joe) Foro and Shirley Munson. Also survived by Janet, mother to Brenda, the Jack brothers and sisters whom he loved like his own brothers and sisters, many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends that were his family! Calling hours will be held at Norton Funeral Home, 5925 New Hartford St., in Wolcott on Sunday, March 19th, 2017 from 12noon until 2pm where a service will follow at 2pm. A reception will follow at the Wolcott American Legion, 10675 Ridge Rd. in Wolcott. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the VA in Canandaigua, 400 Fort Hill Ave., Canandaigua, NY 14424 or the Wolcott Civic Free Library, 5890 New Hartford St., Wolcott, NY 14590.
