Obituary of Gertrude Carleton

North Rose: August 22, 2008, age 78. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Zulauf of Clyde. Gertrude was also predeceased by her brothers, Ernest and Paul Zulauf, nephew James Zulauf. She is survived by her loving husband, George F. Carleton, brother Lyman (Rose) Zulauf, nieces Valerie (Paul) Ressue, Linda (John) Miles, Carol Zulauf, and Sandra Zulauf, nephews Steven Zulauf, John (Sue) Zulauf, Jay (Donna) Zulauf, Ernest Zulauf Jr., and William (Roseanne) Zulauf. Gertrude graduated as a registered nurse from Auburn Memorial Hospital, and served as head nurse at the Barber Hospital in Lyons for many years. She was an avid golfer and active member of the Sodus Bay Heights Country Club. She was a compassionate woman who always lent caring advice to others and a willing hand. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service, 1 p.m. on Monday, August 25th, from the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus. Private interment at the convenience of her family will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Clyde.
