Obituary of Louise DeMass VanDeusen

Wolcott: Louise DeMass Van Deusen, formerly of Wolcott, went to her rest peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the First Presbyterian Church, 11988 West Main Street Wolcott, on Tuesday February 24th at 2 p.m. There will be no prior calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that for those wishing to do so, contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Wolcott, or to the Arthritis Foundation of Upstate New York, 3300 Monroe Avenue, Suite 319, Rochester, NY 14618. Interment will be at the Butler-Savannah Cemetery at a later date. Louise was born in Wolcott, NY on November 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Howard and Verna DeMass, and was married to Judson Van Deusen in 1946. She retired in 1985 after 22 years with attorney Jack C. Stuck. Louise was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wolcott and a life-time member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing bridge, many card games, antiquing, traveling with her husband after their retirement, and spending time with her family. Louise will be greatly missed by her daughter Kay (Hal) Nadeau of Connecticut and son Eric (Kay) Van Deusen of Clifton Springs; grandchildren Kimberly (Dan) Bacik, Chad (Valerie) Van Deusen, Carol (Scott) Guest, Cory (Rebecca) Van Deusen; step grandchild Marissa Nadeau; great grandchildren Autumn Bacik and Skylar, Owen, and Kyra Guest; brothers Richard (Paula) DeMass, Henry DeMass, and Bill DeMass; brothers-in-law Ben (Jackie) Van Deusen and Norman (Marcia) Van Deusen; sisters-in-law Gertrude Hurley and Ardis Harriott; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and dear friend Joyce Stuck. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Judson Van Deusen in 1997 and by her brother Pete DeMass. Arr: Colvin-Robertson-Norton Funeral Home of Wolcott.
