Obituary of Charles Richard Vermeulen

Passed away on Tuesday, April 7th, at home surrounded by his loving family. Charles is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth (Rosington); children Randy (Angela) Vermeulen and Tammy Toner all of Wolcott; grandchildren Amanda, Brad, Cody and Haley; brothers Roger, Ron (Bonnie) and Rick (Theresa) Vermeulen; sister Mary Jane (David) Van Hoover; many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Born in Sodus NY, Charles was the son of the late Abram and Doris (Wahl) Vermeulen. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retiree of Eastman Kodak, where he had worked for 31 years. Charles was an avid outdoorsman and woodworker, and did many carvings for family and friends. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday (4/11) beginning at 10 a.m. from the First Reformed Church of Sodus, 18 Maple Avenue. Interment with Military Honors will be held immediately following at the Sodus Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested the donations in memory of Charles be directed to the Wolcott Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 5841 New Hartford Street, Wolcott, NY 14590; Geneva General Hospital Dialysis Center, 196 North Street, Geneva, NY 14456; or to Lifetime Care, 1120 South Main Street, Newark, NY 14513.
