Sodus, New York Ray, Herbert Herbert Ray, 74, of Sodus, passed away on July 22, 2016. He was born on August 14, 1941 in Dundee, Florida to Mattie Louise Monroe and Jake Ray. He worked as a garbage truck driver in Sodus for GVG Disposal for many years. He was a loving father and brother. He is survived by his children David L. Ott, Kelly Ray, Christina Nelson and Tammy Gardner; brothers Herman, Henry, Roy and Greg Henderson; sisters Ernestine Dickerson, Gwen Owens, Wilhelmina, Bessie, Vanessa, Doreen, Gloria and Rosylnn Henderson; grandchildren Simphony Ray, Saffire Ray, Herbert Ray, Genevieve VanDerbroek, Styles VanDerbroek, David T. Ott, Shila M. Ott, Cole Gardner and Angelicque Gardner; cousins, nieces and nephews; other family and friends. Special thanks to Strong Memorial Hospital Staff on 8th Floor-Unit 3400 and the Dialysis Unit, Blossom View Nursing Home, Rochester General Hospital and Oneida Health Care Center. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 29th, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main St., Sodus. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at The Sodus Center Fire Hall in Sodus Center at 11 AM. A reception will follow at the fire hall.
