Mrs. Bellinger was a very special teacher and librarian at Sodus Central High. I remember her being extremely to the point in dealing with students, which in turn helped us realize consequences for our actions. Her dedication and expressive concerns for all, gave a positive direction for our youth. It's sad to see that we do not see such a positive influence or teachers in the generations after her pass on the righteous discipline and kind heart she really had. There was always a smile in the end...as she knew we were kids...
I miss Mrs B....and give words of thanks to a mentor and beautiful person that she was. God Bless her family and friends...She donated so much time to the Twig Bazaar...which I truly enjoyed as a student at SCH...and visiting her at the library to help me with study material...she was always there for me.
Rest in Peace, Mrs. B, as I will always remember our existence together amongst all the other students you touched in Sodus...

Dear Jim and Family:
We are sad to learn of your mother; our thoughts and prayers are with you. Both your parents were very important to me. I was in your father’s class for vocational agriculture for 4 years. I was the last person he got through to get the Empire Farmer award. Those four years were great.
Your mother was significant in the lives of all of us in the class of '59. I personally learned much from your parents. Not only the learning, but the encouragement to try harder and to keep learning. I have learned in life that some teenage girls are difficult to deal with. Your mother handled this very well; she used sarcasm superbly to minimize any discontent.
I was glad that my wife and I got to have a good conversation with your mother prior to our 50th reunion. Over the years, when I returned to Sodus I would sometimes stop and see your mother. This was always a pleasure. I used to travel a lot and would send post cards from various locations along with sending Christmas cards. She told me she kept all of the post cards. In writing the post cards, I would have to be careful with my spelling. I didn't mind too much if others realized I didn't spell well, but I didn't want my English teacher to know.
Jim you had wonderful parents, we all wish you and family well.

I first knew Mrs. Bellinger as a wonderful teacher and our co-adviser for the Class of '59. In later years I knew her as Bee, a friend whose door was always open for our visits. (I am grateful to some of my dear classmates who made the visits possible.)
I treasure the pictures taken during those visits as well as the recipe for Bee's apple crisp. I've used it so often, the recipe card practically smells like apples!!
Bee showed us the face of dignity and courage during the darkest times of her life. We knew the warmth of her home, the kindness of her heart and the joy she felt for her family. Her loving spirit is alive and well.

Bee's English class was special because she taught us not only English but also life lessons. She became a support system for those of us who needed it. We last spoke a few months ago, and I once again reminded her of how many of us were "her children." I will miss our conversations and her unconditional love.
Bee, it's your time now. You are smiling down on us and are now reunited with your daughter and husband. How joyful that must be! Jim, I know you will miss her, but I'm also sure you are comforted by knowing that she has no more pain and is with Ann and your father.
As it was with many of us, Bee was the "Wind Beneath My Wings." Go in peace and with my love.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. Bellinger. My thoughts are with all of you. As a student at SCS who frequented the library often, Mrs. B 's presence as the librarian was a constant-always ready and willing to encourage and assist a student. On occasion when I ran onto her as an adult Mrs. B always showed the same sense of genuine interest and support. I always enjoyed her company and common sense. I still remember to this day her comment re: early morning being the best time of the day and her wondering why so many people waste it away. I hope you find comfort that Mrs. B touched many lives in such a positive way. She will be missed.
Sincerely,
Heidi Parks Hawkins

One of my most cherished memories of attending school was having Mrs. B a constant in my life. I spent many hours with her a week -- her smiling face and firm guidance helped shape the young adults we became. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed! My thoughts and prayers to you all....

We are so sorry to hear of Bea's passing. She was such a good neighbor to my Grandparents and family friend for so many years for my parents and my sister Loma as well as us. We always spoke whenever we met and asked about each others families. Her kind words in our times of need were always cheerished. She will be remembered and missed.

We extend our sympathies to the Bellinger family in their loss. We have many fond memories of Bea. She was Don's English teacher in high school and Deborah's librarian. She made a class that Don did not like very enjoyable. She made giving blood at the blood drives much more comfortable for Deborah. We both loved her for the wonderful person she always was. Sincerely...

So sorry to read of Bee's passing. I'm a nurse at Pines of Peace and she was my Friday afternoon volunteer for a long time. A wonderful woman to be admired. She was our oldest volunteer and very dedicated. Sorry to have lost contact with her as of late. I last saw her in Blossomview . I always enjoyed her company as much as the residents did. She always talked highly of her family. My condolences to all. God bless......

My name is Kathy and I was the girl who helped ANN when she had her swimming accident in Sodus Point all those many years ago. Your Mom and I have been in contact ever since. We exchanged Christmas letters every year. She enjoyed my children and my grandchildren all these years. I missed her letter this passed holiday. I want to send my deepest condolences to the entire family and to say thank you for sharing you mother Bea with me. I will miss her deeply. Love Kathy

RIP Mrs Bellinger,
Condolences to her loved ones.
Thankful to have been her student. My project was unusual, one of a kind, so she read it aloud to the class. So glad to have been taught by someone with such enthusiasm for literature and writing. "Bea" is part of my continued interest in both avenues of learning and expression.
