Your father was a wonderful man and great asset to the Sodus community at large. He will be missed. May he rest in well deserved peace!
I still recall seeing that BLACK sailboat during during the Sunday morning SBYC races on Sodus Bay.

Our feelings of love, sympathy and condolences go out to all my family and everyone that knew my father who share the hurt and sorrow of his passing.
I may add to the Arbituary that my father also has (5) other Grandchildren that were inadvertently not listed : Gregory RM Pope, 21; Danielle Pope, 17; Sean Pope, 16,(twin); Stephen R Pope III, 16 (twin); and Michael W Pope, 13 - in CA
Dad, not only gave me life in this world as his eldest son, giving his own name to me at birth, but taught me the righteous things in life and made me what I am today. I take pride in all he did for his family and the community. He was a great man, educator and mentor, with so much knowledge he shared. I was truly blessed. I am glad I was able to spend time with Dad and was given his blessings and verbal support before he became ill. It was those special private sharing of words that meant so much to me between father and son - never to be forgotten.

What a nice man. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm almost 84 now and just Googled your Dad's name. When I was a teenager in 1958, I was in Myers Community Hospital in Sodus NY ,after a car wreck. I was there for a month, and the good doctor put me back together. He, the hospital, and other members of that community were good to me and allowed me to pay them for their work over the next couple of years, even though I had returned to Canada. That was the beginning of a new life for me! Thanks. 4r
