Charles (BILL) Breen

Savannah:

Charles (BILL) Breen, 93, passed away Sunday January 12th 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital, with family by his side.

Charles was born in Savannah, October 13, 1931, the son of the late Thomas E and Edith (Roberts) Breen, Sr.  He never stopped walking and riding his bike. He had a great passion for hunting and trapping that he started at an early age and learned from the best old timers in Montezuma. Passing by his home you would see him out in his garage putting sticks and items that he gathered from the woods together making bird houses, pictures, furniture, and many other items. He was independent and never wanted any help.  He served 4 years in the United States Army and being Honorably Discharged in 1952.  He was the best father and papa ever with such a kind soul.

He is survived by his daughter Laura (Laurie) Powers and grandson Michael Powers sisters Betty Ranieri and Ruth Wickem; his brother Bob Breen; along with that he had 2 very special friends in Randy and Mark. Their visits were often and meant the world to him.

Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Breen; sisters

Judith Spencer and Earla Mae Abbott; a brother Thomas Breen.

In keeping with Charles wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Burial will be Saturday, April 19, 11 AM, in Savannah-Butler Cemetery, with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Montezuma Fire Department 8115 High Street Montezuma, NY 13117 or Montezuma Audubon Center 2295 Rt-89 Savannah, NY 13146
