Bertha passed away peacefully at Clifton Springs Hospital on Friday, May 16th 2025 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by her parents Bertha and Fernando Sanchez, sister-in-laws: Emma Jean, Sue and Martha, brother-in-law Donald, and son-in-law Chris.

Bertha was born in Cuba, and came to the US with her family. She graduated from Waverly High School in Waverly, NY. Eventually Bertha settled in Sodus, NY, and Pahrump, NV.

Bertha was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day; she brought light to everyone around her. 

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 47 years, Wilfred Cartwright, Jr., daughter Michelle (Ben), grandchildren, Anne Marie (Erin) and Justin, her brother Fernando (Byrun) of Pahrump, NV, brother-in-law, Gary (Diana) of Sodus, several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins and a multitude of family/friends from Walmart, Dynalec, Seneca Foods, and the Sodus & Pahrump Communities.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 @ Sodus Center Firehall, 5521 Main Street, Sodus NY 14551 from 3-7pm.
