James W. Flynn, Sr.

James W. Flynn, Sr., 69, passed away peacefully at his home on August 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Monday, August 11, from 1 to 5 PM at the Wolcott Fire Hall, 6162 W. Port Bay Road, Wolcott.

Born on November 8, 1955, in Lyons, NY, Jim was the son of the late Hayes H. and Hilda I. (Heck) Flynn. He attended North Rose-Wolcott School and dedicated his life to farming, working at several local farms over the years, most recently at Bovee Farms in Wolcott.

Jim was a proud and devoted member of the Wolcott Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years, where he served many years as Fire Police Captain. His commitment to community service was matched by his love of the outdoors—he found joy in hunting, fishing, and camping.

Jim is survived by his children: Annette (Hector) Aguilar-Gomez, James W. Flynn Jr., and Joseph W. (Diane) Flynn; his sisters: Cindy Mein and Nancy Flynn; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Pamela, who passed away in March of this year; his daughter Christina; sisters Linda and Marge; and brother-in-law Bob Mein.

In honor of Jim’s lifelong dedication to service, memorial contributions may be made to the Wolcott Volunteer Fire Department, 6162 W. Port Bay Road, Wolcott, NY 14590.
