Sodus, NY


 


Carol Lynn DeVolder, beloved sister, mother and grandmother, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 after a long illness at the age of 74.


 


She retired from her passion of working as a unit secretary at DeMay Living Center.  During retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family, loved to watch scary movies and read Stephen King novels. 


 


Carol is predeceased by her loving husband Richard (Dick) DeVolder, parents Thomas and Betty Crocker, sister Denise VanCuyck and grandson Corey Baker. 


 


Carol is survived by her sister, Celeste (Dan) Zimmer; son, Paul (Lisa) Baker; daughters, Michelle (Brent) Cring and Elizabeth (Jeff Sampson) Baker.  She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Sheyenne (Charles Sigel) Baker, Ashley Baker, Matthew (Melanie Higgins) Baker and Zachary Sampson; great grandchildren, Hunter Bettis and Leah Finn. Additionally, she is survived by her step children, step grandchildren, niece, nephews and numerous friends she called family.  


 


Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life for Carol on November 9, 2025 at the Sodus Center Fire Hall located at 5521 Main Street Sodus Center, NY 14551 from 1pm-5pm.
