Robert VanLare, 84, of Sodus, passed away on September 23, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia; children Leland (Carolyn) VanLare, Lynden (Marcia) VanLare, Debra (Dudley) VanLare-Garrison; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was part of many fraternities and organizations including Eureka Grange in Lyons, Wayne County Pomona Grange, NYS Grange, National Grange, NYS Grange Museum Board, Wayne County Soil & Water Board, NYACD Conservation Board, NY Envirothon Board, Fairport Fire Dept. Band, past member of Webster Community Band, Shrine Band, member of Sodus Masonic Lodge and Shriner.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 30th, 2016 from 5-8pm, Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main St., Sodus, NY 14551. A memorial service will be held October 1st, 2016 at 1pm at First Reformed Church on 18 Maple Ave. in Sodus. Burial will be held at Sodus Rural Cemetery in Sodus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sodus Ambulance, 7060 Ridge Rd., Sodus, NY 14551 or NYS Grange Museum, 100 Grange Place, Cortland, NY 13045.
