Obituary of Joan Margaret Marrale

<p>Sodus: Passed away on March 23, 2014 after a long illness. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank, and her beautiful son, Vincent. Joan is survived by many family members; daughter Augusta Melfi (Charles); son Alphonse; daughter Rosalie Gillen (Tom); son Peter (Sandra); sister Catherine Johnson; brother Peter Demerick; ten grandchildren; great-granddaughter Ava Grace Oddo; nieces and nephews including Stephanie Kimber and Ian Johnson; and many friends in New York City and in Sodus.</p> <p>Born in New York, Joan was a homemaker who took her role very seriously. She brought her family and friends together every Sunday through love and delicious food, served in her home where everyone was welcome. She will be missed, but her legacy lives on.</p> <p>Many thanks to Dr. Stephen Judge whom she loved and appreciated. His compassionate care was &ldquo;medicine of the highest order&rdquo;, Dr. Mark Frampton, the nursing staff at Strong Memorial Hospital 6-3400, and the staff at Blossom View Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility which provided Joan with the loving care she needed.</p> <p>Visitation will be Friday, March 28^th at the Cusimano and Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6^th Street, Brooklyn from 2 - 5 p.m. &amp; 7 -10 p.m. Joan&rsquo;s Funeral Mass will be Saturday March 29^th, 9:15 a.m. at St. Dominick&rsquo;s Church, 2001 Bay Ridge Parkway, Brooklyn, NY.</p> A Memorial Mass will be Saturday April 26^th, 11 a.m. at Church of the Epiphany, 103 West Main Street, Sodus.
