Butler/Wolcott: Kenneth Mettler, loving husband, father and papa, passed away on April 1st, age 73 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Connie; his children Tommy, Daniel “Boone” (Kim), and Lynnette Wazinski; grandchildren Devon, Shantel, Kendra, Macy, Jeremy, McKenzie, Cody, Mariah, Dawson, Nathan, and Noah; great grandchild Travis; brothers Carl, Robert, and Gary; sister Kathy; many nieces, nephews and friends; special friend Marilyn Gowers. Ken was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Mildred Cole Mettler; sisters Joyce Whiting, Beatrice Plantz, Ruth Gonyeau, and infant sister Connie. Ken was a 28 year employee of the Town of Butler Highway Department where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Wolcott Elks, and the Sons of the American Legion. He had a passion for farming, enjoyed camping at Black Lake, fishing and hunting, and was a NASCAR fan. Visitation will be Friday April 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 5925 New Hartford Street in Wolcott. Ken’s funeral will be Saturday April 4th, 11 a.m. from the Faith United Methodist Church, 12223 Oswego Street, Wolcott. Interment will immediately follow at the Huron Evergreen Cemetery. Donations in Ken’s memory may be sent to Lifetime Care, 800 West Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513.
