Wolcott: Ray Markowski, age 84, unexpectedly on Sunday April 12th while taking his daily walk on his farm. Born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania he was one of 16 children born to Boleslaw and Stella Czplicka Markowski. Ray is survived by his wife of 55 years Virginia “Ginny” Wojciak Markowski; his children Raymond (Judy) Markowski of Georgia, Kathleen (Rex) Pentycofe of North Rose, Joseph (Robin) Markowski of Savannah, John Markowski of Savannah, and Eric Markowski of Georgia; grandchildren Erik Pentycofe of North Rose and Shane Pentycofe of Sodus Point; step-grandchildren Derek, Tia, Renee, and Adam (Suzzy) Stowell; brother Daniel (Elaine) Markowski of Williamson; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ray was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters. Ray was a retiree of Gould’s Pumps in Seneca Falls where he had been employed from 1970 to 1994 as a welder and a mechanic. Additionally he was a farmer for many years. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday April 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 5925 New Hartford Street in Wolcott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 18th at 11:30 a.m. from St. Mary Magdalene Church in Wolcott. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one’s choice in Ray’s memory.
