Red Creek: Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 10th at his residence in Red Creek. Bob is survived by brothers Carl (Nancy) Mettler and Gary (Cheryl) Mettler, sister Kathy (Randy) VanAlstine; son Michael Storto; step-children Michael, Patrick, Christopher, and Melissa Smart; 8 grandchildren; nieces; nephews; sister-in-law Connie Mettler, and brother-in-law Robert Gonyeau.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Mildred Cole Mettler, brother Kenneth Mettler, sisters Joyce Whiting, Beatrice Plantz, and Ruth Gonyeau.
A 28 year employee of New Process Gear in Syracuse where he was a machine operator, Bob was an honorary member of the Red Creek and Wolcott Fire Departments. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and during the 60’s, drove stock cars at Weedsport Speedway.
Visitation will be held on Saturday June 6th, from 11-2 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 5925 New Hartford Street in Wolcott. His funeral will immediately follow and interment will be at the Huron Evergreen Cemetery on Dutch Street Road. On-line condolences
