Obituary of Caroline Boller McKee

Sodus: Age 88. Died peacefully at Blossom View Nursing Home on November 13, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Castelle Boller. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years Abner McKee; children William (Rebecca) McKee, Carrie (Leon) Bouwens and Mary Ann (Mark) Hargrave; sister Mary Ann (James) Henderson. She was proud of her grandchildren Patrick (Mary) McKee, Christopher (Kerri) McKee, Jennifer McKee (Steven Rutledge), Peter (Melissa) Miller, Stephen (AsheLeigh) Brusso, Katherine Hargrave Sylvain, Caroline (Nicholas) Armington and great grandchildren Mary Margaret and Julia McKee, Connor and Garrett Rutledge, Jack and Max McKee, Corbin and Cagney Brusso, Preston and Graham Miller, Kaylee and Macallister Sylvain; nephews Thomas (Kathy), John (Judith) and Preston (Jeanne) Henderson; great nephews Patrick, Lawson (Carolyn) Henderson; and great nieces Lindsey and Rebecca Henderson and the late Jessica Henderson. Caroline lived most of her life in Sodus and was a lifelong member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She attended Colby Junior College and graduated from the University of Rochester. She had been active in Girl Scouts, Myers Hospital Twig Association, The Chatterbox and the Women of St. John’s. She was a member of the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, loved golf and played in the “High Hopers” league. She was an avid and excellent bridge player and played once or twice weekly until her last hospitalization. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 28th at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sodus. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Women of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 54 West Main St., Sodus, NY 14551 in Caroline’s memory. Arr: Norton Funeral Home of Sodus.
