Ray Donselaar passed away on Saturday November 19th, at the Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was a Navy veteran who served during World War II. He had been employed as a Federal Firefighter, and later worked at the Wayne County Highway Department. Ray was predeceased by wives Rebecca and Eleanor; his daughter Rita Jackson; and his sister Julia Donselaar. He is survived by his son Eric (Donna) Donselaar; grandchildren David Aldrich (Colleen), Rhonda Carner (Paul), Ryan Donselaar and Molly Toombs (Michael); 5 great grandchildren; brothers Richard Donselaar and Casey VanLeeuwen. Visitation will not be observed, his funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 22nd at the Savannah Congregational Church, 1592 North Main Street in Savannah. Interment with Military Honors will be at the Savannah-Butler Cemetery on Rt. 89. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ray’s memory should be directed to the church.
