I was a student of Mrs.Hopkins at Taylor Elementary in the early 1970’s. We remained in touch by letter and telephone throughout the years. We got together for dinner when she visited her friend in Cincinnati a few times. Oh, how I loved her so! The last time I heard from her she had just moved to Massachusetts and was having some issues with her health. I never heard anything more and I searched online for many years to find her. I happened upon her obituary by accident tonight. In my heart, I knew she had probably passed away but to have confirmation that she is gone and has been for many years breaks my heart. She and I had a close relationship and she was so special to me. I have photos of her during her races, square dancing in Florida, on her trip to Spain and as she traveled around the US to see her sons. I loved you, Jean Hopkins. You made such a difference in my life. I’ll never forget you.
