David passed away February 2, 2017 at the age of 47 at his home in Kentucky after a 7 year illness with amyloid cancer. He is survived by his wife Ronda, children David Wayne Jr. and Monica (Jacobi) Quarels, parents Richard and Betty Lowley, sister Denise (Roy) McCarthy, niece Sydney, nephew Brady, in-laws Pat and Terry Otto, brother-in-law Lloyd (Sarah) Pickett, niece Elizabeth and nephew Eathan.
In David’s military career he completed 14 years of active duty and 7 years Army Reserve. He served 1 year in Iraq as an Information Systems Operator Analyst. He received several awards and recognitions during his military career. David worked for Hewlett Packard Enterprise for the last 16 years as the Technical Lead/Senior Programmer for Headquarters Support System at Fort Knox.
A Funeral Service with Military Honors was held on February 10, 2017 in Fort Knox with many friends and family in attendance. Memorial contributions in David’s memory are accepted at James Graham Brown Cancer Center Hospital located at 529 South Jackson Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202.
