Obituary of Gregory Allman

Gregory Allman passed away peacefully at home with his sons, David and Joseph, by his side on Friday, February 24, 2017. He was born on December 6, 1961 to Barbara and Frederick Allman. Greg is predeceased by his parents, Barbara and Frederick Allman. He is survived by his four loving children, Alexandra, David, Ariana and Joseph. He is also survived by his siblings Mary (Bob) Ange, Mark (Sue) Allman, Suzanne (Daniel) Decker, Fredric (Linda) Allman, Eric (Nancy) Allman, Carol (Michael) Lynch, Heidi Allman, and Kurt (Michele) Allman. Gregory is also survived by his 17 nieces and nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews, special cousins, along with many close friends. Greg joined the United States Navy in 1980 and became a Seabee. While he was in the military he met his wife, Betzaida. He was honorably discharged in 1983 and finished the Reserves in 1985. He co-founded Double AA Driveways with his brother, Kurt, in 1986 which lasted 25 years. He then started farming full time with his son, David, until his final days. One of Gregory’s greatest accomplishments was raising his four children. Greg left knowing his children will achieve their life aspirations to the fullest potential. One of Greg’s final wishes was to see all four of his children graduate. The Williamson Central School District helped with this arrangement, and Greg was able to watch his youngest son, Joseph, graduate a few weeks ago. The family is grateful to the Williamson Central School District for the gesture, and memories they helped create. They are also grateful for the supportive health care team at the Wilmot Cancer Institute for helping extend Gregory’s life, and for all those who visited, prayed, and helped care for him. He will be sadly missed, and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Epiphany, 105 West Main Street, Sodus, NY, 14551 at 11am on Thursday, March 2, 2017.
