I'm so sorry to hear of Don's passing. I know he will be missed. I had the pleasure of having Don as a teacher at Sodus Central and also as a Sunday School teacher too. I have many fond memories. Don was also a very giving person as head of the Credit Union. He personally sat down with my wife and me to help us set up some extra accounts for bill paying and taxes. This was on a Saturday. A day off for him.
I know his family has many fond memories too The memories will forever be with everyone who knew him.

Mrs. Rhine and Family,
My sincere condolences to you all. I have so many fond memories of Mr. Rhine. I was blessed to get a cleaning job at the credit union when my first son was born & he was only 2 months old. Mr. Rhine would ask me how my 3 children were doing even after his retirement. When I was officially hired in October of 1997, he would often email me in the evenings when I would kick him off of our system (as part of my job) back in the early years for me. It was also a great honor to have my first born work at Reliant in 2010 and to introduce Nathan to Mr. Rhine when he came to visit. I’m still blessed to be at WCTA/Reliant and I’m still so grateful for his kindness with his random emails to me just to say hello and ask me how my family and I were doing. Always a caring man and one I will never forget. May he Rest In Peace now. We send you thoughts of peace, prayers and love at your time of sorrow. We share in your sadness. Sharon, James, Nathan, Ryan and Meagan Hoover

My sincere condolences to the Rhine family. I first met Mr. Rhine in 1971 when I joined the WCTA Credit Union. In our young married life, he helped my husband and I get a couple loans. He was always friendly, kind, and made the experience very personal and comfortable. He was easy to talk to, and discuss financial issues with. I remember one time he had his secretary hold our baby while we signed papers! We was truly a very intelligent, truly good man.

Sorry to hear that we have lost such a wonderful man. I remember many hours spent with him as he lead us through those early years of credit union organization. He was so proud of the service provided to the teachers in Wayne County.

Dear Mrs. Rhine and family,
I am sorry for your loss but know you know he is only resting. We will see him again at the last trump! I am forever grateful to you both because you are one of the reasons I will see him again. Your family paid to send my sister and I to a Christian camp when we were children and there I learned what a loving Heavenly Father I have and that He wants me in his family! I learned two promises there that I held on to in the worst of times, John 3:16 and 2 Timothy 1:7. Whenever I was afraid I remembered that second verse and knew the fear was not from the God who gave His Son for me because He also gave me love, power and a sound mind.
I don't know how you all picked our family to bless as I was to young to have him as a teacher then but I was then multiply blessed to be invited to stay in your home on occasion, attend church with you, and to get him as my science teacher in High School and as a mentor for life. He and your family have always been a shining star to guide those of us floundering to a Savior second to none.
I look forward to seeing Mr. Rhine in the kingdom with your whole family and thank you all for being such a wonderful influence in my life!
With love and condolences,
Dorothy Barber

We shall never forget the goodness of this man, Mr. Rhine, for he touched our lives in such a special way. In 1970 we became members of the WCTA and met Mr. Rhine. He still remembered us a few years ago when he returned back to Sodus and still had that wonderful and humble smile and greeting.
We wish to send our condolences to his family and members who shared in his life for our loss is heaven's gain. With deepest sympathy, Alvin and Mary Jones.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rhine family during this difficult time. We heard it said once that when you experience the loss of a loved one you never really get over it. First you get through it, then it becomes part of who you are. Don certainly left this world a better place as a result of his contributions. Cherish the memories. Reta and John

Lois and family;
I was so sad to hear about your dad. My memory is of your dad and the bank. My dad Charles Sandway was so proud to have helped to get the electricity into the Credit Union, and worked with you dad to do so. Of course we had to sign up as CU members. Both of my children were recipients of the CU scholarship in honor of your dad. May you find peace and comfort as you give thanks to God for your dad's life, and may you feel God's love and compassion flow through those who surround you at this time of grief.

Mr. Rhine was an excellent teacher. His science classes were interesting even for those of us who did not excel in the subject. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy working with students.
My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Rhine and the rest of his family.
