Obituary of Anne Y. Nichols

Anne Nichols passed away peacefully at the Leo Caring Center in Rochester on October 10, 2018. Anne was born, the oldest of five children, to Ray and Lois Phillips Younglove on a farm in the Red Creek/Fair Haven area. She attended country school and then went on to high school to graduate at age 16 as valedictorian  of her class. After graduation, she went to SUNY Oswego where she graduated with honors. At the age of 20, she began her 38 year-long elementary teaching career, first at Wolcott Central School, then Red Creek and Arlington, VA and Liverpool, where she taught for many years.

          Anne enjoyed the arts, music and was an avid birder. She traveled extensively in the US, in Europe and Africa, as well as birding trips to Costa Rica, Venezuela and the Canary Islands.

          Anne was predeceased by her former husband, Kenneth, and  brothers Meric and Duane Younglove. She is survived by her brother, Hugh (Sharon)Younglove and sister, Gail (Rollie) Heimberger and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

          Services will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, October 17th at the First United Presbyterian Church of Sodus, 31 West Main Street, Sodus, NY 14551. Donations may be made, in her memory, to the church. Arrangements entrusted to Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main St., SOdus, NY 14551.
