Sodus: Hilda VandeViver Ball at age 92 surrounded by her family passed away on January 29th. She is survived by her son James (Lisa) Ball of Sodus; her brother Lloyd (Betty) VandeViver of Sodus; sisters Lorraine (Roderick) McNeil of Webster and Dorothy VandeViver of Clifton Springs; grandchildren Pam (Doug) Dionne of Apopka FL, Benjamin (Betty) Cleghorn of Jamestown ND, and Kathryn Ball of Sodus; great-grandchildren Nicole and Rachel Dionne, Mackenzie, Kendra, Justin, Dylan, and Ashlyn Cleghorn, as well as many nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Elwood in 1991, daughter Rosalind Cleghorn in 2001, sister Audrey VandeViver in 1950, and brother Richard VandeViver in 2006.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday (February 3rd) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus. Hilda’s funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sodus United Third Methodist Church (corner of Main and Belden). Interment will be at the Sodus Rural Cemetery. Contributions in Hilda’s memory may be directed to the Sodus United Third Methodist Church.
