Sodus/Palmyra: Roger L Snyder, age 81, passed away at his home in Palmyra on April 15th. Roger was born in Sodus and was pre-deceased by his parents Albert (Bert) and Elizabeth (Liz) Snyder and his brother Charles “Chuck” Snyder. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yvonne Bigler Snyder; daughter Lisa (Jon) Cauwels of Macedon; son Andrew (Maschelle) Snyder of Lyons; sister Norma Hannan Snyder of Winter Haven, Fl; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 nephew; 6 nieces and his sister-in-law, Shirley Bigler.
Roger was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. The Snyder’s resided in Sodus Point for 20 years. Roger was previously mayor of the Village of Sodus Point for 6 years.
At his request there will be no services. Interment will be in Sodus Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Roger urged that any donations in his honor be made to the Sodus Post #910 of the American Legion, to help Legion members assist veterans returning from our long years of combat deployment.
