Sodus: Passed away on Saturday February 16th, age 66 years at the Pines of Peace in Ontario, NY. Marlene is survived by her husband of 44 years, Rev. Neil Spalding; children Grant (Julie Redder) Spalding, Sara (Barry) Wright and Derek Spalding; her mother Olive Cornelius; 6 grandchildren; sister Janet (Rev. Burton) Hamilton; 1 niece, 2 nephews; and her extensive church family. Marlene was predeceased by her father Victor Cornelius.
Visitation will be Friday (2/22) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus, and on Saturday (2/23) from 11-1 p.m. at the Sennett Federated Church, 7777 Weedsport-Sennett Road in Auburn. Marlene’s Funeral Service will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Private interment will be in Angelica, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Marlene’s memory to the Pines of Peace, 2378 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.
