Obituary of Frederick Tyler Dunn

Wolcott: Age 48, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 23, 2013. Fred was born on October 22, 1964 in Springville, NY to Lester and Florence Dunn. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 25 years, Beth; children Michael (Jamie) Dunn, Sarah Dunn and fiancé Craig Williams and Katie Dunn; grandchildren Angil, Terrie and Christina Dunn and Levi Williams; parents Lester and Florence Dunn; brothers Frank (Kathy) Dunn, Thom (Robin) Dunn, Andrew Dunn, and sister Suzanne Dunn; nieces and nephews Meghan, Mallory, Connor, Madison, Zaine, Trent, Danyelle and Keyon; many aunts, uncles, cousins and by dear friends-the Lange family. Fred received his B.M. in Music Education from the school of Music, SUNY at Fredonia and his M.M. in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music. He taught vocal music for the North Rose-Wolcott School District since 1986. He was a member of the American Choral Directors Association, National Association of Teachers of Singing, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and NYSSMA. He had guest-conducted All-County festivals for Tioga, Genesee, Ontario and Wayne Counties. He was a member and organist-choir director at the First Lutheran Church in Lyons for 23 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hiking in the Adirondacks, reading, gardening, learning, Bible study, genealogy, and antiques. His soft-spoken wisdom, encouragement, generosity and listening ear will be missed by many. The family will receive friends at the Wolcott First Presbyterian Church, 11988 West Main Street, Saturday, March 23rd at 12:00pm with a Celebration Service to follow at 2:00pm In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Frederick T. Dunn family Memorial Fund at Reliant Community Credit Union, Sodus, NY. 14551. Arrangements entrusted to the Norton Funeral Home of Wolcott.
