Dear Suzi my sister,
After 3 yrs I finally heard you had lost John. I cant tell you how sorry I am for you. It breaks my heart that I could'nt be there for you.
I was told you are doing ok, I hope it is true. It must be so hard to be alone after so many years together.
I hope someday we can reunite.
I miss you & do live you.

For some reason, I recently was thinking of John and Suzi. I was surprised and saddened of learning of John's passing. He was a great boss, mentor, and friend. I learned a lot from him. I will always be grateful for everything he did for me. Although I lost contact with him a few years ago, I have thought of him often. My heart goes out to Suzzi, and The rest of his family. RIP John!

Mrs Sperry, I am so sad to hear of the passing of Mr Sperry. I was fortunate to reconnect with him again a few years ago and reminisce about the days with TJ and John. When I drive past Summit Knolls, I always look at your old house and remember those days when Jeanne and I would come over. Mr. Sperry was a wonderful and kind man and I am so sorry for your loss.

John,
Myrtle the Turtle here. You, Sir, will be missed. Your heart for your fellow Veterans is inspirational. You touched so many lives and were so instrumental in healing for so many.
What I really need to commend you for is your love for my sister. You took care of her for 50 years. The ups and downs and all the in-betweens.....thank you for being her person and taking care of her!
You were the one constant man in my life since I was nine....thank you for teasing me, spoiling me, supporting and encouraging me. Mostly, thanks for loving me!
Until it's my time to join y'all....
You, John, TJ and Sweetie take care and enjoy your big party up there! You are so loved and will be missed!

John,
I will always cherish the time Mary and I spent with you and Suzi.
I am going to miss our phone conversations, the jokes and the serious talks we had about our experiences in combat.
I recall the first time I met you, it was in DC for Veterans Day many years ago. I walked into the hospitality suite and got this big bear hug from Sperry. Then you made me a drink, which I nursed for the rest of the day.....
John, we will never forget the true dedication and devotion that you bestowed on your combat brothers.
You were always there for us, your tireless efforts to help will always be remembered.
John, Please watch over us, we still need your strength, courage and faithfulness.
Rest In Peace with the Angels brother.

It was very sad to learn of the passing of Vietnam veteran and Combat Veteran of B Company 3/60th. John provided the spark and organization for our company reunions. He was the first company Veteran that I talked to after Vietnam and he helped me contact guys I served with. For me he will always be the face of B Company 3/60th. To Suzi and John’s family, Debbie and I offer our sincere condolences for your loss. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace old soldier.

John , you were my friend my brother in arms and always will be, I'm sorry I didn't call on you after your tragic loss of your sons but I knew you wanted to be alone. I want to thank you for that 'special' drink you made for me in DC when we were placed into the Navy memorial/museum, everyone in the hospitality room at the time, including the entire commanding officers had a great laugh and so did I the next morning. God I'm going to miss you brother, I wish you peace and now its time for you to rest...just one last click huh...Suzi, I'm so sorry for your loss, my heart is with you, please call if and when you want.

My BFF Suzi... I remember meeting John at Arlan’s many, many years ago and watching you two fall in love. John was the best and had a heart of gold! He was so good for you! He was a gentleman, a leader and was always there to help his veterans any way he could. I’m going to miss you John but I know the boys were there to greet you! I should have been home by now and with Suzi but I’ll get there as fast as I can. Fly high pain free... I love you

Our Deepest Sympathy to Suzi & other family members. John was a kind person; a real gentleman; and a dedicated Combat Soldier. He was instrumental in reuniting me with all of my Combat Brothers at my first Reunion. And for that I will always be grateful. Sue and I always enjoyed our visits with you two at our Reunions. He also help me locate and determine the status of several other Combat Brothers with whom I had served. I am proud to have served with him. RIP John.
