Obituary of Azure Marie Allen
Azure was born at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Oakland California on April 17, 1983. Two days later she was in a car traveling across the Country. Azure was born with bright blue eyes, hence her name, meaning sky blue. Azure was a precocious child and excelled in everything she attempted. Azure attended East High School and joined the Naval Jr. ROTC. She was selected to attend a special program at the U.S. Naval Academy while in High School. Azure Graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Psychology while completing the Naval ROTC Marine Corp. Program. She was Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corp. Azure was brutally sexually assaulted while in training and was subsequently Honorably Discharged. She returned home to complete a 2-year Nursing Program at MCC and became a Registered Nurse. Her assault haunted her though and she suffered terribly from PTSD. Azure died from PTSD on May 29, 2020. Azure grew up in the ghetto of Rochester, NY. Both her parents had drug and alcohol problems until she was 9, at which time her father entered recovery and her mother left to pursue her addiction. Azure overcame her humble beginnings, being active in Church, helping in the nursery. Azure was a great big sister to her brothers, James Allen, Ezekiel Allen, Jacob Allen and her cousin, Brittany Pata. Aunt Cathy Pata was Azures surrogate mother, influencing Azures life in untold positive ways. Azure went on to lead a young girl named Jessica Cobb, by example only, to follow in her footsteps. Jessica, being the first to graduate High School in her family, also graduated from the University of Rochester as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. Azure loved animals and always had many pets. Her cat, Smoky, she had from kindergarten until the end of College. Her 2 current dogs Dory Jean and Dody were very dear to her. Azure gave birth to two beautiful, intelligent, loving boys. Michael Francis Paparone on September 24, 2012 and Zachariah James Allen on July 19, 2018. The boy's fathers, Michael Paparone and Greg Gascon are very blessed to have been given such beautiful loving boys from Azure. Due to Azures accomplishments, these boys will be provided for, for their childhood and through college. Azure was a dedicated and loving mother afflicted by illnesses that plagued her and continue to plague countless others. Azure will be remembered for her intense sense of loyalty; she always took care of her own. Azure always was a benefit to whomever was in her life. Her extremely high intelligence and demand for the loyalty she gave was sometimes intimidating to people. Azure had no patience for stupidity and as a result, she had few friends and kept to herself most of the time.
Azure's Burial Service will be held Thursday June 4, 2020 at the Veterans Circle in The Irondequoit Cemetery, 3671 Culver Road. Rochester, NY 14622.
