Obituary of John Monroe White

John Monroe White Sr. age 71 passed away peacefully at Demay Living Center in Newark, NY, Saturday, December 18, 2021. John went home to be with his wife, Linda May White (passed away in 2003) and other family members and friends. John was born in Potsdam, NY on July 29, 1950.

He is survived by his 4 children, Tammy White Gilbo, Tina white, John White Jr., and Jason White; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy Gilbo, Tesa Gilbo Fefee, Amy Gilbo Turner, Justin White, Tiffany White, Sheyenne Baker, Dakota White, Dominic Eriksen, Matthew Baker, Kira White, Abigail White, and Jake White; 3 great grandchildren, Kylie Whitt, Aubrie white, and Westin Fefee; 2 brothers, Anthony (Bonnie) White, Roger (Sharlene) White; 3 sisters, Nancy (Gerald) Richard, Julie (Fran) Collar, late Joanne (Charles) Maxfield; his mother, Ethyl Dennis White Russell, and many nieces and nephews.

John worked hard all his life with working in the woods (logger) up around the Adirondacks (Lake Placid area) for many years. Then decided to move down to Sodus, NY working at Peter Hermans in Marion, NY and retiring from there after 20 plus years. After retirement, he baked a lot (never measuring anything), delivering it to everyone he could and cared about. He enjoyed eating at the Village Restaurant in Wolcott, NY. In his spare time, he watched his old shows and westerns on tv. John will be missed dearly, but we all know that he missed Linda a lot and is happy to finally see her and his dad (Rupert White) again. John talked about them a lot. The family will be having a celebration of life for him and will let everyone know when and where it will be.
