Obituary of Easter Hines

Please share a memory of Easter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Easter Hines was born July 17, 1968 in Newark New York to Lucy Lee (Taylor) Hines and the late Harry Lee "Big M" Hines.  Easter departed this life on September 27, 2022.

She is predeceased by her father Harry Lee Hines Sr., brother, Harry Lee Hines Jr, sisters, Catrena Hines, and Lucy M Snead, and laid to rest with her brother Leroy Hines.

She leaves to mourn the passing of her beloved fiance Henry Loveless, Mother Lucy Lee Hines, brother Anthony Hines, sisters: Sally (Daniel) Jenerson, Elizabeth Hines, Barbara (Juan) Guite, 10 nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

Today, our hearts are broken as we all mourn the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and friend Easter. Her bright light and big heart left us too soon, but we will remember her warmth, love, and generosity.

Easter has left us all a lesson, and that lesson is to celebrate each other no matter what.  She never missed celebrating her family every birthday, holiday and no one ever went without a Christmas present.  She believed in Jesus as her Lord and savior.  She often said that no one made her choose to be saved, “I chose Jesus myself”.

Easter Graduated from Sodus High School. Her proudest achievement was placing in the proudest achievement nationals field hockey division in California.   After school she worked at Key Industries in Newark, New York where she met Henry Loveless and began a 37-year relationship.  Easter loved shopping and ordering from catalogs (mysterious packages always showed up on her mother's doorsteps).   Easter became a faithful member of the Alton Free Methodist church and enjoyed volunteering for various functions. She was always willing to give a helping hand if needed and will be remembered for those countless selfless acts of kindness by those that she helped.
