Ernest Standifer, 85, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 at his home with his wife, Carolyn, by his side.

 
Friends and family are invited to his funeral service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 30, at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main St., Sodus.  

 
Ernest was born on February 23, 1938 in Twin Lakes, Florida the son of the late William and Louise   (O’Neil) Standifer. Before his retirement he worked at IEC in Newark.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, going to church, singing in choir and playing the saxophone.

 
Although Ernest had been suffering from his illness he still had his love for his Lord & Savior and his family who he always talked about.

 
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 40 years, Carolyn (Ewing) Standifer; sons Leon, Ernest Lee (Vera) Standifer; daughter Dorothy (James) Harris; grandchildren Dominique Standifer, Hiliary (Michael) Foster, Tony Standifer Jr. and James (Natasha) Harris, Christina (Christopher) King, Kandice Standifer; eight great grandchildren, all from Florida; nephews Rick and Walt;  many other family and friends; Special Caregiver Rhonda (James) Jenkins, Dana Hollis, Linda Laurent, Lilian, Hailynn, Hailey and Dashia all of whom he loved so much. 

 
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Calvin Roache; his first wife Christeen; a son Tony Standfier.
