Elizabeth M. (Mables) DuBois

Elizabeth M. DuBois, 105, passed away peacefully, October 5, 2023 at the Newark Manor Nursing Home.
Friends and family are invited to her memorial service, Saturday, November, 11th at 2PM at the First United Presbyterian Church, 31 W Main St, Sodus. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Pultneyville, at the convenience of the family.
Elizabeth was born on June 9, 1918, in Williamson, the daughter of the late Isaac and Mary (Dillman) Mables. She worked in the quality control department at Duffy Mott in Williamson, and retired from there. She also hung wallpaper and picked cherries. She loved poetry, and she would recite the “Night Before Christmas” for the residents at the Terrace of Newark, at age 100. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends as long as she could; Dutch treats (candies) sugarspeck, olie bollen – deep fried dough with raisins and dipped in brown sugar, saucizen, homemade soups and bread.
Elizabeth touched the lives of many people in her 105 years on this earth and was loved by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her sons, Randall (June) and James (Barbara) DuBois, and daughter Nadine Sorahan; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; a sister in law Carol Mables and a special niece Judy Palmer.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter; sister Madelyn (John) Cambier; brothers Cornelius (Arlene), Isaac Jr. (Jean) and William Mables.
