Larry D. VanGee

Sodus:

Larry VanGee Sr., 78, passed away surrounded by family on July 11, 2024, in Clifton Springs, NY. Born on January 11, 1946, in Newark, NY, Larry led a life marked by dedication and quiet strength.

A graduate of Sodus Central School, Larry furthered his education at Auburn Community College and RIT. He dedicated 33 years to his career as a Xerographic technician, from 1967 until his retirement in 2000. His work ethic and professional commitment were well-regarded by all who worked alongside him.

Larry was a man of many passions, with a particular love for spending time with his family. He found solace and joy in landscaping and had an avid interest in classic cars. In his younger years, Larry was an impressive athlete who passed on his love of sports to his children and the many members of the youth sports teams he coached. As a staunch sports fan, he never missed a Syracuse basketball game or an opportunity to cheer for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Buffalo Bills.

He is survived by his wife, Cammy (Carlotta); sister, Audrey Warn (Carl); children, Larry VanGee Jr. (Margaret) Marcella Deno (Matthew); and Amanda VanGee (George “Sonny” Jones). His grandchildren, Alexandra (Brendon) Barres, William VanGee, MaKendra VanGee, Amanti Jones, Peyton Deno and Arianna Carlotta, will miss his presence deeply, along with his in laws Amy Kearns, Wendy (Chris) Tunley and Mick (Lisa) Carlotta and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Mabel (Israel).

Larry will be remembered as a strong, dependable, and loyal individual, whose presence was a source of stability and strength for his loved ones. His legacy of love and dedication to his family will live on through the beautiful memories cherished by those who knew him.
