Nancy Carol (Jeffery) Hanagan Lynch

Nancy Hanagan Lynch (87) passed away Wednesday, July 31st at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, Clifton Springs New York.

Nancy was born on June 17, 1937, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late Harold Edmund Jeffery and Helen Mae (Bush) Jeffery. She grew up in Palmyra, New York, where she graduated from high school in 1955.

In addition to her family, Nancy was most proud of her graduation from the Marion S. Whelan School of Practical Nursing, Geneva, NY, her many years of helping others as an LPN at Myers Community Hospital, and her decades of dedicated service as a volunteer EMT with the Sodus Town Ambulance, something that she was able to share with her husband, Bob, her daughter Jill, and her son John.

Some of her favorite forms of relaxation were camping with her family and socializing with her many friends by playing bridge.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Ed) Mundy; her sons, John (Becky) Hanagan, Jay (Elaine) Hanagan, and Jeff (Cathy) Hanagan; step-children Tina Lynch Zaunbrecher and Clifford (Susan) Lynch; sister, Diane Shurgot; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her late husbands, Thomas C. Hanagan and Robert A. Lynch; her granddaughter, Dacia Marie Hanagan; and her brother, Rodney Jeffery.

Nancy’s love of her many shelter dogs, and her decades service to the ambulance corp, prompts the family to request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Wayne County, or Wayne County EMS.

A celebration-of-life reception will be held Saturday, August 10th any time from 5 to 8 pm at the First United Presbyterian Church of Sodus, 31 Main Street, Sodus , NY.
