Robert “Bob” VanEe

SODUS POINT: On Thursday September 19, 2024 Robert “Bob” VanEe, loving husband and father, peacefully passed away at age 75. Robert was born on July 21, 1949 in Sodus, New York to Margaret and Isaac VanEe.  Bob was predeceased by his wife Dorothy “Dot” VanEe in 2021.  He is survived by loving sons James (Courtney) VanEe and Brian (Heather) VanEe, grandson Connor, Brother William (Nan) VanEe, sister-in-law Kay Ann Gwilt, nephew Daniel (Varvara) Clark, grandnephew Matthew Clark, nephew David (Paula) Gwilt, grandniece Kathleen (Justin) Hoesterey, great grandniece Freya Hoesterey.  Family, dear friends, and neighbors provided comfort and support throughout his life.

After receiving a Masters of Engineering at Cornell University, he worked as a systems engineer at Xerox for over 30 years.  In retirement, He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, sailing with his brother and son, 3d printing gifts and practical objects, cheese making, and woodworking. His selfless devotion and care for his loving wife throughout their lives together was extraordinary and beautiful.

At his request, a private celebration of life will be held at a future time. If possible, donations to your local ambulance service or hospice in his name would be appreciated by the family.
