Betty Kerr, 95, peacefully passed away October 3, 2024 at Sodus Rehab and Nursing Home, with her family by her side.
Betty was born April 30, 1929, the daughter of the late Frank and Lenora (Vancour) Hewitt. Betty, along with her husband, was owner/operator of the Wolcott and Sodus Auto Parts store for 36 years. After they sold the business she became a homemaker and very devoted to her family. She loved shopping with her girls and had a wicked sense of humor.
The Kerr family invites friends and family to celebrate Betty's life on Saturday, October 26 from 1 - 4 PM at the home of her son, Dean, 6971 Maxwell Road, Sodus.
She is survived by her daughters Coleen Crary, Betsy Kerr and Debra (Robert) Fratangelo; sons Dean (Michele) and Thomas (Tonya) Kerr; son-in-law Daniel Towne; brothers-in-laws Drew (MaryLou) and William Kerr; sisters-in-laws Joan Leffert and Elsie Chatlin; grandchildren Craig (Vicky), Cory (Kristen) and Brian (Rebecca) Towne, Shawn (Adrienne), Ian, and Brett (Yuki) Kerr, Amber (William) Redden, Shawn (Dawn) Crary, Megan (Josh) Mahan, Ryan (Stacey) Crary, Steven Jernigan, Kacey (Misty), Jacob Weinhold, Elaine (Don Finn) Swartwood, Shaw (Patty) Fratangelo, Monica (Chris) Hotto, Diana (Nick) Rawden, Erica (Matthew) Hendrikse, Tyler (Kayla) Kerr and 34 great grandchildren, several niece, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dale W. Kerr in 2015 and her daughter Diane Towne in 2024.
