Obituary of Hattie E. Conner

Sodus: Passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, age 68 following a brave battle with cancer. Hattie is survived by her husband James Conner Jr.; daughters Mishiiannia (Edwardo) Flowers, Michelle (Darrell) Cabarris; son James (Sylenna) Conner III; grandchildren Janey, Juwan, Terry Jr., Jacee, NaTatyana, Marcus and Terrell; great-grandchildren Khnoella, Kimya and Kailia. She is predeceased by her parents Willie and Lilla Mae Bowman Sr., brothers John Bowman Sr., Willie Bowman Jr., Herbert Bowman Sr, sister Dottye Sales, and grandchildren Shanterra Baker, Ty and Tre Conner. Hattie was an active member of the Christian Fellowship Church of Rose. She was very involved in W.A.R.E., M.L.K. Planning Committee, and was President of Hands of Unity. She worked at I.E.C. Electronics in Newark for over 24 years. She loved working as a tutor with the Lyons Literacy Program, and as a foster grandparent with Huron Head Start. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus. A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 24th, 11 a.m. from the First United Presbyterian Church, 31 West Main Street, Sodus. Interment will be at the Sodus Rural Cemetery.
