Chance Elvis Burke, born June 16, 1995, tragically passed away on December 18, 2024, at the young age of 29. A beloved son, brother, and uncle, Chance was preceded in death by his loving father, Ricky Slate, and his great-grandparents, Frank and Grace Slate, as well as his grandmother, Marjorie Burke. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Billiejo and Timothy McKay; his sisters, Destyni (Sam) Burke, Erica (Jamonte) Cobb, and Joslin McKay; his nephews and nieces, Drevariis Yeomas, Terrance Barber, Talia Yeomas, and Jameric Cobb; his girlfriend, Santasia Cummings (Vylette); and his loving son, Dinero. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
From a young age, Chance had a love for baseball and the great outdoors(except bees)He loved being out on the open water and had a real knack for being a trickster.
Entering adulthood, He was a visionary entrepreneur and successful business owner, Chance lived a life marked by passion, generosity, and a spirit for adventure. Chance displayed remarkable drive, turning his dreams into reality through hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in the possible. His business ventures were not only a testament to his intelligence and creativity but also to his deep commitment to creating opportunities for others and giving back to his community.
Beyond his professional success, Chance had an insatiable thirst for life. His vibrant energy and adventurous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him, and his absence will echo like a quiet reminder of the beauty he brought into the world.
Services will be held at Norton’s Funeral Home in Sodus on December 28, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a celebration of life to follow at 4 West Main Street (formerly 315 Exotics). In lieu of flowers, please bring a stuffed animal for Dinero.
