North Rose: Passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2013, age 74. Born on November 27, 1938, David was a lifelong resident of North Rose. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Clara Barnes Sr.; brothers Arthur Jr., James and Stuart; sisters Eleanor Guthrie and Kathryn Hendershot. David is survived by his wife of 53 years Katherine Barnes; sons Curtiss (Theresa) Barnes and Michael (Julie) Barnes; grandchildren Christian, Connor and Caleigh; his sister Barbara Anthony; numerous nephews, nieces and friends. David had worked for Gene Adams Trucking, and then later as a manager for Agway, at their Lyons, Sodus and Wolcott facilities from which he retired in 2000. There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend his outdoor Memorial Service, which will be held at his home at 3 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 24th) at 10521 Salter Road in North Rose. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow at the North Rose Fire Department. David’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Rose Fire Department, PO Box 208, North Rose, NY 14516, or to the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, NY 14489.
