Obituary of Jean Bond Peters Sturtevant

SODUS- Jean B. Sturtevant, age 88 passed away on August 21st 2013 at the Leo Center for Caring Hospice at St Ann’s, Rochester, NY. She is survived by her daughter Marcia (Steven) Landgren of Webster, NY, son Robert H. (Jan Runner) Peters of Webster, NY and step son John Sturtevant, Syracuse, NY, grandchildren Mark R. (Colleen) Peters, Pittsford, NY, Brett C. Peters, Charlotte NC, Chad A. (Jenea) Peters of Uden, Netherlands, Michael Landgren, Laura Landgren of Webster, NY, and sister Doris Bond Hays of Geneva, IL. Several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husbands, Hugh E. Peters and Jim Sturtevant; parents Laura and Forest Bond; Sister Ruby (Scott) Grover and stepson Jim Sturtevant Jr. Jean was born in Alton, NY in the Town of Sodus September 21, 1924. A graduate of the Sodus High School and Rochester Business Institute. She worked for the Wayne County Commissioner of Jurors where she retired in 1986. She was a member of the Col. William Prescott Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a devoted member of the Alton United Methodist Church. She sang in the Church Choir as well as the Sodus Swing Choir singing at the World’s Fair in NY and was a member of the Alton Cobblestone quilters. Jean loved music and being with her family and friends, going to special outings, attending Church each Sunday and caring for her loved ones in time of need. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug 30th from 4-7 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main St. Sodus, NY. A memorial service will be held on Saturday Aug 31st, at the Cobblestone Alton United Methodist Church, Ridge Road Alton at 2 p.m..
