Sodus: Passed away on Friday May 9, 2008 at age 88, at home surrounded by his family. Edwin is survived by his wife Elizabeth; son Russell (Nancy) Waeghe; daughter Barbara (Ronald) Virts; step-children Rev. Gary (Peg) Bryden, Dave (Judie) Lenkiewicz, Tim (Loretta) Cummings, Tom (Pam) Bryden; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Edwin was predeceased by his first wife Johanna in 1994, brother August and sister Helen.
Edwin was a World War II Army Veteran, having served as a Staff Sergeant with the 236th Quartermaster Company, was Past Commander of Marion American Legion Post #1430, and had worked for many years at the former Hallman Chevrolet in Rochester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday (May 15th) from St. Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church in Marion. Interment with military honors will be at the Marion Cemetery. At the request of Edwin’s family, contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to Lifetime Care, 1120 South Main Street, Newark, NY 14513. Arr: Norton Funeral Home, Sodus, NY.
