Please share a memory of Elaine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
North Rose: Elaine Rose Venette Denner was born on July 13, 1938. She is the daughter of the late Agnes and Nelson Venette. On March 10, 1956, the city girl from Rochester married her devoted St. Lawrence Seaway farm boy, Arnold L. Denner. Together they had three children, Arnold “Denny”, Linda (Clevenger), and Steven. Early on in their marriage she milked cows, had a milk route, drove dump truck and cut and delivered pulp wood. They left the farm up north and moved back to her home city in Rochester. As a couple they enjoyed many ventures : Chili Sports and Toys, Teen Center, Vince Lombardi Football, The Windjammer, Kodak events and real estate. Elaine worked for 16 years as a bus driver for the Churchville Chili School District. They took up residences in North Chili, Sodus Point, Venice, Florida and Wolcott. Elaine had a love and passion for shopping and cooking. Elaine’s hobbies included painting, shells, crafts, scrabble, cards and bingo. Strangers would instantly become friends as Elaine had the gift to talk and tell family stories repeatedly (LOL). On Saturday December 7th, Elaine died peacefully at home. She was predeceased by her brother Nelson Venette, and the agonizing loss of both her sons Denny and Steven Denner. In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by and blessed with three grandchildren, David (Megan) Denner , Chad (Courtney) Clevenger and Amanda Lauer, and six great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 15th, at noon at the Cottage Inn, Old Ridge Road, & Route 370 in Red Creek. Donations in Elaine’s memory should be directed to Wayne County Department of Aging & Youth, 1519 Nye Road, Suite 300, Lyons, NY 14489, or to Lifetime Care/Hospice, 800 West Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513.
