Sodus: The family of Murray M. Featherly Jr., is mourning his passing on Wednesday June 11, 2008. Murray is survived by his wife of 53 years, Berdeane Roemer Featherly; sons Murray (Dawn Michelle) Featherly of Sodus, Grant (Beth) Featherly of North Rose; granddaughter Sarah Ann Featherly of Sodus; brothers and sisters Phillip (Edna) Featherly of Sodus, Sumner "Sonny" (Audrey) Pearsall of Fairport, Mary Fowler of Newark, Betty Hayden of Hilton. Murray was predeceased by his parents Murray and Ethel Glass Featherly Sr., brother Richard C. Featherly, sister Mildred “Millie” M. Featherly, brothers Leo and Winford “Winnie” Pearsall, and John Pearsall.
A Mechanical Engineer, Murray retired from the Dynalec Corporation in 1997. He was a Navy veteran, having served from 1951 to 1955 and was assigned to Airborne Early Warning Squadron Four in Jacksonville, Florida.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 17th, from 11 -2 at Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street, Sodus, where his funeral will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Interment with Military Honors will immediately follow at the Sodus Rural Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Murray may be directed to the Sodus Town Ambulance Corps, PO Box 344, Sodus, NY 14551.
