Obituary of Jean Agusta Young

Sodus: Jean Agusta (Nordstrom) Young, born Jan. 15, 1922 in Canton, OH, died Nov. 24, 2013 in Sodus, NY. A player of the violin since the age of four, and a singer in various choruses throughout the whole of her life, Jean, who graduated third in her high school class, developed a longtime love of classical music, a love she passed down to her four children she had with her husband, Ted to whom she was married for 69 years. A longtime member of the Seventh-Day-Adventist Church, she was a dedicated teacher for their private schools for 35-40 years. She taught the elementary grades during this time and often expressed her particular joy in teaching the younger ones. Preceded in death by her husband by almost 4 years, she is survived by her four children; Theodore "Ted", Robert (Gail), Colleen (Wayne) Ingersoll, Mary (Glenn) Quiring, as well as six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Jan. 17, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Blossom View Nursing Home (Cameo Dining Rm), 6884 Maple Ave., Sodus, NY 13143.
