Sodus/Burke NY: Passed away Tuesday January 7, 2014 at age 88. Lyla was born in Burke, NY, daughter of Clarence and Mina Dufrane Wood, She was predeceased by her parents, husband Herbert McDonald, sons Clifton and Roger, and several brothers and sisters. Lyla is survived by her children Sharon (Edwin) Schum, Paula Lanning, Wanda Wahl, Gary McDonald, Brenda McDonald, Carol (Bernie) LeFever, and Lynn (James “Digger”) Grosz; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday January 12th, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus. Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the funeral home. Interment will be at the Burke Hill Cemetery in Burke, NY at a later date. Memorials in lieu of flowers should be directed to the American Heart Association.
