Obituary of Ralph R. Stevens

Mays Point: Passed away on Monday March 3rd at 80 years of age. Born in Woodstock, Vermont, he was the son of the late Leonard and Edna Jenks Stevens. A lifelong resident of the Mays Point area, he was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the War Dads, former member of the Magee Fire Department, and had been Produce Manager at several area grocery stores. An avid sports fan, he particularly enjoyed the Philadelphia Flyers, and the New York Yankees. Ralph is survived by his wife Patricia Stevens; granddaughter Jamie Stevens; grandson Aaron Stevens; daughter-in-law Pia Stevens; step-sons Matthew Wood, Martin Wood and Thomas Palumbo; brother-in-law Harold Abbott; close cousin Marie Bundy; several other family members and close friends. Ralph was predeceased by his first wife Reva Abbott Stevens, and by his son Craig Stevens. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 8th, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with funeral service following at the Norton Funeral Home, 13081 West Church Street in Savannah. Spring interment with Military Honors will be at the Crusoe Cemetery. Those wishing may offer memorial gifts in Ralph’s name to the Arthur T. Meehan American Legion Post 1343, PO Box 56, Savannah, NY 13146.
