Obituary of Gilbert H. Sergeant

<p>Sodus: Beloved husband, father and grandfather, unexpectedly on Friday April 25^th at age 75. A lifelong resident of Sodus, he had served on the Sodus Village Board, had been employed at the Sodus Central School District as school psychologist, and following retirement at the Wayne County ARC. He was the author of several trivia books and hundreds of puzzles. A devoted Penn State alumnus and fan, he was very active in his fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau.</p> <p>Gib enjoyed his children and grandchildren and their sporting events, as well as fishing, woodworking, and playing music. Well noted for his sense of humor and many close friends, he was a long time member of the Sodus Lions Club.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife Carol; his mother Mary Evelyn Sergeant; sons Tim (Christine), Mark (Christine), and Matt (Tracy); grandchildren Jeff, Tyler, Madison, Christopher, Michael, and Katie. He was predeceased by his father Lawrence Henry Sergeant.</p> Visitation will be held on Thursday May 1^st, from 2-4 p.m. with his funeral service at 7 p.m. from the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus.
