Obituary of Janet VanLare Clark

Sodus: Passed away on September 16, 2014, age 83. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton E. Clark. Janet is survived by her children, Terry (Linda) Clark, Victoria Clark (Cindy), and Julie (Larry) Schuldt; grandchildren, Joshua (Chastity) Clark, Timothy (Kelly) Clark, and Jacey Schuldt; great grandchildren, Tanner, Kahlen, Brayden, Jack, and Emmett; brothers Kenneth (Norine) VanLare, Larry (Bev) VanLare, and sister Judy (Barry) Frazer; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janet had a dream in 1982 that she owned an antique shop named Past & Present. In September of 1983 she opened that antique shop, and Past & Present is still operating in Sodus, NY after 31 years. She loved her business, had superb decorating skills, and a great eye for good antiques. In her leisure, Janet loved playing bridge and entertaining all of her friends. She had a special sense of humor that we will all remember. Christmas Day was always celebrated at Jannie’s house where she was surrounded by her entire family. Janet was a lifelong member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, serving the Lord in many capacities. She served on many committees for the Women of St. John’s, and she was most recently the director of the Altar Guild. There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday September 20th, 11 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 54 West Main Street, Sodus.
